How to make baths for hemorrhoids From chamomile or with potassium permanganate

Useful properties and types

Almost everyone is at risk for hemorrhoids, since the disease often occurs with little physical activity, poor diet, constipation, pregnancy and childbirth. A person is accompanied by unpleasant symptoms - inflammation and bumps in the anus, bleeding, cracks, pain not only during movement, but also during rest.

The disease develops rapidly, moving from one stage to another. Treatment is becoming longer and longer and often the only way to cope with it is surgery.

You will act completely wisely and save yourself from a lot of trouble in the future if you start the fight immediately, at the first manifestations of the disease. In this case, sitz baths will provide effective help, especially with external hemorrhoids.

As the disease progresses and internal hemorrhoids appear, the use of such procedures alone will no longer be enough.

Depending on the water temperature, baths are divided into 5 types.

Hot baths

Relieves pain and inflammation, has an antibacterial effect. The water temperature is no more than 40 degrees, otherwise you can burn the delicate skin of the perineum and rectum. Contraindicated for exacerbations of symptoms. Effective at the beginning of the disease, at stages 1 and 2.

The water temperature can be determined with a thermometer, or you can do it the old fashioned way, like for a baby, by dipping your elbow into the water. If after a minute the skin can withstand it, then the temperature is acceptable. Hot water should not exceed the maximum - 50–60 degrees.

  1. Fill the basin halfway with water, pour out the prepared medicinal mixture and sit down, first spreading your perineum with your hands.
  2. As it cools, add hot water.
  3. When finished, blot the perineum with a soft, lint-free cotton cloth and lubricate it with an antibacterial gel containing aloe, rosehip or coconut oil.

Take 20 minutes. The course usually ranges from 10 to 14 procedures, after a 4-day break it can be repeated.

The best time is before bed to avoid catching a cold.

The use of hot baths

Hot sitz baths for hemorrhoids have a rather conventional name. During this procedure, infusions based on medicinal plants are usually used, the temperature of which does not exceed 40 °C.

Sit in the prepared solution for 8-12 minutes, then wipe with a cotton cloth and apply an ointment for hemorrhoids, which will be prescribed by the doctor.

During hot baths, it is necessary to monitor the water temperature. The liquid should not cause discomfort and should not be too cold.

There are many recipes that normalize digestion, eliminate constipation, and promote smooth bowel movements. These factors are one of the main factors that cause hemorrhoids.

Treatment of the disease should begin with a review of your diet, regardless of its stage and symptoms. It is necessary to improve the functioning of the intestines first, otherwise any treatment will be useless.

Chamomile baths for hemorrhoids

There are quite a lot of recipes that involve the use of chamomile. So, how to do chamomile baths for hemorrhoids?

They can be divided into regular decoction baths or steam baths with chamomile. To solve the question of how to prepare chamomile baths for hemorrhoids, you will need a small container (basin or bucket), dried chamomile flowers and a maximum of half a liter of water. To prepare a chamomile bath, pour the mixture into a container, then pour water and leave for 10 minutes. Then you need to sit on a bucket or in a basin, wrap yourself warmly in a blanket, and stay in this position for no more than 5 minutes. To alleviate the symptoms of the disease, a similar procedure should be used several times a day, the course should be at least 3-5 days.

Regular chamomile baths for hemorrhoids are made using an already prepared infusion. To do this, pour 2 tablespoons of dried flowers into one glass of boiling water and leave for an hour with the lid closed. The resulting liquid is used not only for hemorrhoids, but also for the diagnosis of anal fissure. Based on it, they take sitz baths and make microenemas, which is most often necessary for internal hemorrhoids.

Chamomile flower infusion

The recipe for microenemas includes the following ingredients:

  • chamomile (flowers);
  • yarrow (leaves);
  • mint (leaves).

They are collected in a ratio of 2:2:1, respectively. Then two spoons of this mixture are poured with boiling water (1 glass), allowed to brew and cool, and then filtered and the remaining warm liquid is used for microenemas, preferably overnight.

Their use is often not recommended, since chamomile, when used in excess, harms the intestinal microflora.

Yarrow leaves for hemorrhoids

You can also try making a bath from this plant using an infusion prepared in a water bath. For this:

  • Place the dried collection in an enamel bowl.
  • Fill it with warm water.
  • Close tightly.
  • Place in a water bath.
  • Remove after a third of an hour.
  • Strain half an hour after removal.

The ingredients must be taken in proportion: 1 part collection to 10 parts water. It is noteworthy that baths for hemorrhoids with the manifestation of inflammatory processes are made only from pure collection, without admixtures of other plants. In this case, the analgesic effect will be greater.

It would be a good idea to consult your doctor. He can explain which chamomile baths to take for hemorrhoids, how to do the baths correctly, for whom baths for hemorrhoids with chamomile infusion are recommended, and for whom they are contraindicated.

What you need to have

Buy a new enamel or plastic basin that you will place in the bathtub and sit in it.

But the most convenient is considered to be a sitz medical bath on the toilet, which you can buy at a pharmacy, medical equipment stores or order on the Internet. The bath vessel is made of plastic or porcelain, placed directly on the toilet and equipped with a special gutter so that excess water flows there.

Prepare a soft cloth with which you will wipe yourself after finishing the procedure. Terry and waffle towels are not suitable. The former can leave lint on the inflamed tissues of the perineum, while the latter are too rough for these purposes, it will simply hurt you.

It is necessary to boil and cool the water in advance, if necessary, and also prepare the medicinal raw materials that you will use - herbal decoctions, potassium permanganate, sea or Epsom salt, onion peels, finely chopped garlic, propolis, etc.

Sitz bath therapy should begin with a visit to your doctor. It is very important to correctly determine the time and frequency of procedures, duration of treatment, select ingredients and follow recommendations.

Is it possible to take baths after surgery?

The procedures help prevent the occurrence of complications in the form of pus and inflammation. In this case, it is recommended to make baths with potassium permanganate.

Rehabilitation after the intervention reaches 30 days. Otherwise, treatment with water therapy lasts up to 1 week.

In addition to medications, folk remedies are used for inflammation of the venous collection in the rectum. Baths for hemorrhoids are warm, hot and cool. Steam procedures are distinguished separately. Therapy depends on the course of the disease and symptoms. Traditional methods have some contraindications for pregnant women. Before using herbal teas, it is recommended to consult with your doctor.
