With superficial gastritis, the patient’s main task is to prevent the disease from spreading. By following our advice, you can, if not completely recover from superficial gastritis, then keep it in remission constantly. According to statistics, about half of the world's population suffers from superficial gastritis, so think about your diet in a timely manner.

Chronic superficial gastritis (non-atrophic gastritis, type B gastritis) is a form of chronic gastritis in which the inflammatory process spreads exclusively to the mucous layer of the stomach, without affecting the glands and muscle tissue of the organ.

The causes of the development of chronic superficial gastritis are poor nutrition, addiction to alcohol and smoking, stress, and concomitant diseases of internal organs. Separately, it is worth highlighting infection with the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, since this factor is the leading one among other etiological factors.

Chronic recurrent gastritis ultimately leads to structural changes in the mucous membrane, and then to atrophic gastritis - a serious disease that threatens the development of oncology.

Principles of cooking and eating food

With gastritis, it is important to reduce the load on the inflamed and irritated gastric mucosa , so when preparing food and eating it, be sure to adhere to the following rules:
During an exacerbation, all porridges are prepared exclusively with water . As you recover, you can add milk and butter to cereal dishes.

Since gastritis excludes all fatty foods , this should be taken into account when cooking: remove the skin, cut off visible fat, cook soups in secondary broths, etc.

Vegetable side dishes should be served only in the form of puree from well-cooked products. It is not allowed to eat fried foods, even in the form of frying in soup. It is better to stew the vegetables first in water with the addition of a small amount of oil.

During the acute period, it is also necessary to avoid baked foods . They can be prepared when the disease goes into remission (without the formation of a golden brown crust).

You shouldn't overeat. The entire daily diet should be divided into 5-6 meals .

You can only consume warm foods and drinks: both hot and cold food are a powerful irritant for the inflamed walls of the stomach.

It is necessary to chew food thoroughly and drink drinks in small sips.

In the chronic course of the disease, dietary restrictions are a lifelong measure . With the onset of a period of remission, you should not pounce on prohibited foods, so as not to provoke a new attack.

It is important to understand that the diet for superficial gastritis is balanced and complete in nutritional content, and can be followed for a very long time (if necessary, throughout your life).

What to eat for gastritis. Now let's move on directly to the description of the diet recommended for gastritis. The lists of permitted and prohibited foods will be lower, but for now you need to focus on the differences in nutrition between adults and children.

For children

What and when should a child eat with gastritis? Frequent meals in small portions, 6-7 times a day, are strongly recommended. Completely eliminate fried, rough and spicy foods. Often drink warm mineral water without gas or boiled water in small sips, the temperature of the liquid is 40-45 degrees.

The best dishes to prepare are slimy porridges and soups, soft vegetable puree or well-mashed steamed meat.

For drinks, fruit or vegetable non-acidic juices without pulp inside are allowed. You can drink from mineral waters: Slavyanovskaya and Borjomi water - with increased secretion, Morshynskaya, Druskininkai and Pyatigorskaya - with decreased secretion.

For adults

What should an adult eat with gastritis? The body of an adult is much better suited for digesting roughage, which is why there are fewer restrictions than in children. But there is also a direct dependence on the advanced state of the disease - if chronic gastritis has been bothering you for several years and has already weakened the lining of the stomach, then you should consult a qualified doctor about diet during treatment.

But you need to completely give up any alcohol (even beer) and smoking, otherwise the disease can seriously worsen, and all attempts at cure will quickly go to waste. Try to avoid spicy foods and any acidic drinks that can cause irritation to the mucous membranes.

Recommended varieties of fish for gastritis and stomach ulcers

In order for fish dishes to be beneficial, it is important not only to prepare them correctly, but also to know which variety can be included in the diet at a given time. Indeed, with different forms of the disease, the name of the product may be different. If you follow your doctor's recommendations, you can quickly get rid of gastrointestinal diseases. Light, lean fish ensures that the body quickly digests it and receives all the beneficial nutrients. Doctors' advice regarding fish: it should be fresh, of high quality, low in fat and sufficient in basic proteins. The composition contains semi-saturated acids, which are so necessary for a sick body. Let's look at the main types of fish that are recommended for gastritis.

When treating an exacerbation, a general gentle diet is prescribed from the first days, as in the case of acute gastritis. Strict adherence is necessary to reduce inflammation. After reducing pain and other symptoms, you can use nutrition to stimulate the formation of gastric juice.

Table No. 2 provides for the physiological nutritional value of food. The energy intensity of the diet is 2800–3000 kcal/day. In terms of composition, fats account for 90–100 g (1/4 of the animal origin), the same amount for proteins (2/3 of animal origin), the amount of carbohydrates is allowed to be increased to 420 g.

Recommended food set and dishes from it

With low acidity, you can include in the diet for gastritis:

  • dried wheat bread;
  • unhealthy pastries and dry cookies;
  • soups, better prepared without fatty meat and fish in vegetable broth with the addition of pureed cereals, noodles, meatballs;
  • if well tolerated, borscht, cabbage soup with fresh cabbage and herbs (excluding sorrel and spinach) are suitable;
  • boiled lean meat, poultry, fish, beef tongue, steamed cutlets;
  • milk sausages;
  • soft-boiled eggs or in the form of a steam omelet;
  • kefir, cream, fresh cottage cheese, hard cheeses, sour cream;
  • porridge (millet, barley, pearl barley are not recommended);
  • from vegetables - mashed potatoes, zucchini, carrots, cabbage, beets;
  • soft pureed varieties of apples, watermelon, tangerines, oranges, peeled grapes, strawberries, raspberries;
  • sweets - marmalade, marshmallows, marshmallows, honey, jam, various jams;
  • tea with milk;
  • fruits are useful in jelly and compotes, non-acidic juices.

You need to take mineral water like “Essentuki 17” 20 minutes before meals, at room temperature

What not to eat if you have gastritis with low acidity

Contraindicated products include those that require prolonged digestion in the stomach, irritate the mucous membrane, and activate pathogenic intestinal flora and fermentation processes. These include:

  • fatty fish and meat;
  • fresh baked goods and pastries;
  • salty and peppery dishes;
  • hot sauces and seasonings;
  • ice cream and cold drinks;
  • a significant amount of grapes and cabbage;
  • whole milk;
  • coarse dietary fiber of raisins, prunes;
  • legumes;
  • chocolate.

The duration and extension of the therapeutic diet are determined individually. Usually the more stringent version lasts up to one and a half months. Then add rich soups, soaked herring, lightly fried meat (without breadcrumbs), a sandwich with caviar, and up to two cups of coffee a day.

Before meals, you can drink half a glass of water with added lemon juice. During the period of remission, patients are advised to exclude from their diet only fatty and smoked meat, fish, lard, and spicy seasonings. Less commonly, there are cabbage products and fresh grapes.

Treatment of superficial gastritis

Simple gastritis lasts 5-6 days, as the gastric mucosa recovers quickly. Early detection of alarming symptoms and prompt treatment will help stop the progression of the disease. To clarify the diagnosis, it is necessary to undergo an examination to exclude other gastrointestinal diseases. Then determine what was the irritating factor in the occurrence of gastritis.

Treatment is carried out in the following areas:

  1. Etiological therapy. Aimed at eliminating the main cause of the disease. During treatment, antibiotics are prescribed, and, if necessary, antihistamines.
  2. Replacement therapy. Helps restore the normal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, for which antacid drugs are prescribed, then restorative vitamin complexes.

Treatment should be combined with dietary nutrition.

What and in what form can you eat for superficial gastritis?

Nutrition for superficial gastritis should be complete, therefore, despite the fact that many foods are undesirable to consume, it is important to find an alternative to them among the permitted

The list of recommended dishes may vary depending on the stage of the disease and the level of acidity of the patient's gastric juice.

In hyperacid form

If the hydrochloric acid content is elevated, the patient is allowed to:

  • Lean meat and fish. From these products you can prepare cutlets, steamed meatballs, various pates, and soufflés. During the period of remission, you can eat casseroles with the addition of chopped fish or meat, and soups with light broth.
  • Whole milk, milk soups, unleavened cheeses.
  • Non-fermentable (low fiber) vegetables. Pumpkin, zucchini, carrots, beets, potatoes (boiled, preferably pureed).
  • Cereals should form the basis of the diet. The most useful are slimy porridges and soups made from them. An excellent option would be oatmeal, buckwheat, rice, and wheat cereal.
  • Not sour fruits, better baked. Apples, persimmons, peaches, bananas, cherries, etc. Dried fruits also lose acids during the drying process, which means they can be included in the diet.
  • You can also eat whole grain bread (the ideal option would be yeast-free sourdough bread) and biscuits.
  • Dessert. Contrary to the popular belief that sugar is generally contraindicated for gastritis, patients in remission can treat themselves to something tasty. The choice should be made on healthy treats - marshmallows, marshmallows, marmalade, etc.

As you can see, the choice of products is quite large, from them you can prepare a huge number of varied, tasty and healthy dishes.

For hypoacid superficial gastritis

The diet for superficial gastritis with a reduced content of hydrochloric acid in gastric juice is in many ways similar to that described above. The main difference between them is the attitude towards milk and dairy products. In the case of reduced secretion, whole milk is very difficult for the stomach to digest.

But fermented milk products, which are not recommended for people with the hyperacid variant of the disease, are, on the contrary, useful when juice activity is reduced, because they can stimulate the production of hydrochloric acid. Also, this group of patients can include fresh fruits in the diet, because the organic acids included in their composition also activate gastric secretion.

How to cook

For patients of both categories, it is important not only what to cook from, but also how to cook. Regardless of the level of acidity of gastric juice, the diet for superficial gastritis should completely exclude fried, smoked, pickled, salty foods

Steamed, baked or boiled food is the most acceptable option.

What to exclude from your diet

If you have been diagnosed with superficial gastritis, your diet should exclude all irritating foods that harm the gastric mucosa.

The most aggressive products include:

  • Bitters, spices. Black and red pepper, ginger, mustard, horseradish, onion, garlic, cloves, cumin, saffron, vinegar and much more that people are so accustomed to adding to their dishes are taboo for patients with stomach pathologies. Allowed spices include salt in small quantities and high-quality natural soy sauce, but it is not recommended to eat these additives in large quantities.
  • Baked goods, hot dough (in the form of dumplings, dumplings and other dishes). These foods are very difficult for a healthy stomach to digest. Therefore, if you have gastritis, you should definitely avoid them.
  • Strong tea, coffee, chocolate, cocoa - these drinks are prohibited, with the exception of light tea with milk with a reduced level of stomach acidity.
  • Fresh juices and soda are also prohibited drinks for gastritis.
  • Vegetables with a high amount of fiber (cabbage, radishes, cucumbers, asparagus) can cause bloating and complicate the situation with the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Corn porridge, bulgur, beans, lentils and other legumes are also not recommended due to their ability to provoke flatulence.

However, you need to understand that each organism is individual and it happens that some products from the list of prohibited foods may not cause a negative reaction in a particular patient. Therefore, in case of long-term remission, treats from this list can be gradually introduced in small quantities, but if the situation worsens, it is necessary to return to the recommended diet.

Superficial gastritis is very easy to treat if you consult a doctor in a timely manner.

One of the main components of therapy is a therapeutic diet, so it is extremely important to review your diet taking into account all the recommendations of your gastroenterologist. Be healthy!

Compare with meat

Proteins of fish origin are absorbed faster and easier than meat proteins.
If on average it takes 2-3 hours to digest fish in the stomach, then for most types of meat it will take 5-6 hours. At the same time, the fish is digested almost completely, and the meat is only 85%. Compared to meat, fish products have lower calorie content and a low concentration of extractive substances that stimulate the production of gastric juice. Therefore, for hyperacid forms of gastritis, fish is safer. The lower content of connective tissue fibers makes it possible to include fish in the diet in uncrushed form, while meat for gastritis is recommended to be minced.

However, it should be noted that fish dishes are more palatable than meat dishes. Therefore, they are not recommended to be included in the daily menu. The optimal frequency of eating fish is 3 times a week. In terms of vitamin and mineral composition, fish and meat are not rivals, but allies. In both products, the content of useful chemical compounds is quite high; they harmoniously complement each other.

Experts' opinion. When asked what is healthier for the body - fish or meat, nutritionists answer unequivocally: both. Alternating meat and fish dishes in the diet is the basis of a balanced diet.

Symptoms of superficial gastritis

The causes of the disease can be various irritants. Remission lasts quite a long time.

The most common signs:

  1. In the epigastrium there is pressure, distension, burning;
  2. Pain is felt after eating, most often of the aching type;
  3. "Hungry" sensations;
  4. After eating junk food, heartburn appears;
  5. Decreased appetite, resulting in weight loss;
  6. Rotten taste from the mouth, unpleasant aroma;
  7. Pain on palpation.

At the stage of superficial inflammation of the stomach wall, individual signs of an increase or decrease in the acidity of gastric secretions appear.

At a young age, an increase in acidity is more common, which periodically leads to acute pain, sour belching, bowel problems (constipation, diarrhea), and dull pain in the epigastrium at night.

Gastritis with low acidity can turn into an atrophic form in a short time; this is typical from the age of 40 years.

With this form, there is poor appetite, weight loss, alternating constipation and diarrhea, and unpleasant belching.

Recipes for some dietary dishes

The following are recipes that are recommended for preparing meals for patients.

Slimy soup

Mucous soups are recommended in the acute stage of gastritis with severe pain. They are a good substitute for milk for people who do not tolerate this product well.

To prepare one serving, you need 25 g of oat flour (pre-grind the flakes in a coffee grinder), add about 500 ml of water, bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low and cook, stirring, until the volume is halved and the soup thickens. The resulting mass is rubbed through a sieve. For taste, it is recommended to add a little salt, add mashed boiled egg yolk, and cream.

Before eating, you can add a teaspoon of butter to the plate and garnish with herbs.

Meat soufflé

Not all housewives know what kind of dish this is. Meanwhile, it is prepared easily and quickly. For one serving you need 60 g of boiled meat (chicken is suitable), 50 ml of milk, one egg, a little flour, a gram of salt (a small pinch), a teaspoon of butter and vegetable oil.

Twist the boiled meat through a meat grinder three times, add salt and mix with milk and vegetable oil. Remove the white from the egg and add the yolk to the minced meat. Lastly, fold in the whipped egg whites. Place everything in a baking dish. Place in the oven for 10 minutes. Before serving, brush with butter.

Broth seasoned with egg flakes

To add flavor to a regular low-fat broth, egg dressing is suitable. To do this, break the egg, mix thoroughly and slowly pour into the boiling prepared broth while stirring. To prevent lumps of protein from forming, you need to adapt to pouring the egg mass through a colander or sieve. After this, you will need to salt the dish.

Patients with chronic gastritis have to adhere to dietary restrictions for a long time, possibly throughout their lives. At the same time, you need to stop smoking, give up alcohol, and try to follow the regime. It is impossible to rush from one method to another in the treatment of gastritis. Course use of medications does not affect nutrition.

Prohibited Products

Now let’s figure out what foods you can’t eat if you’ve been diagnosed with superficial gastritis. If an exacerbation of superficial gastritis occurs, then on the first day it is better to refuse food and drink warm chamomile tea. On the second day, you can give the patient slimy soup, well-cooked porridge, and mashed potatoes.

Everything else is prohibited during the acute period. Then you can gradually expand your diet by adding permitted foods. But at the same time you need to categorically exclude from the diet:

  • alcohol in any form;
  • carbonated drinks;
  • salted and smoked fish;
  • smoked sausages and other smoked meat products;
  • any fast food, including chips, crackers, etc.;
  • store-bought semi-finished products;
  • sour fruits and berries;

Advice! Despite the significant benefits of lemons and other citrus fruits, patients with gastritis with a high level of secretion should exclude these fruits.

  • among vegetables, radishes, radishes, and white cabbage fall into the section of prohibited products;
  • mushrooms in any form;
  • pickled and salted vegetables, including home-cooked ones.

Delicious diet recipes

It is wrong to think that switching to a diet will force you to spend hours in the kitchen. Everything is much simpler - you can buy an electric steamer, and the now fashionable multicooker, and save yourself the trouble. We suggest you prepare vegetable stew with a minimum of time.

Vegetable stew

You will need:

  1. 1 young zucchini.
  2. 1 large carrot.
  3. 1 medium onion.
  4. 2-3 potatoes.
  5. 4-5 broccoli florets.
  6. Salt, vegetable oil, a little milk.

Preparation: wash the vegetables, cut them into large cubes of equal size, put them in a thick-walled pan, add salt. Add a tablespoon of vegetable oil and a little water to the vegetables, so that they cover 1/3 of the vegetables. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 15 - 20 minutes. 5 minutes before the end of cooking, you can add 2 - 3 tablespoons of milk - the taste of the stew will be softer.

The recipe is simple, it can be prepared either stewed or baked. It’s even easier - in a double boiler, in which case the taste of the vegetables will appear brighter.

Chicken balls with carrots

You will need:

  1. 500 grams of minced chicken fillet without skin.
  2. 1 medium carrot.
  3. 1 small onion.
  4. 1.5 table. l. semolina.
  5. Vegetable oil, salt.

Preparation: Prepare minced chicken by passing the skinless fillet through a meat grinder twice. Chop the carrots and onions together with the chicken. Add semolina to a homogeneous mass, stir and add salt. Let the minced meat stand for 30 minutes until the semolina swells. Then form the balls and bake in the oven, or cook in a double boiler. The dish turns out juicy, very tasty, and does not at all remind you of a diet.

Delicious and healthy fish dishes

If you think that dietary nutrition for gastritis means tasteless and bland food, then you are deeply mistaken. How to cook fish for gastritis? It is enough to know a few little tricks and not be afraid to experiment. It is not necessary to cook only soups. Modern cuisine is rich in recipes that will help you prepare a tasty and at the same time healthy dish.

Pink salmon in a slow cooker

Red fish is a storehouse of vitamins and nutrients. If you cook it in a slow cooker, it will turn out juicier and tastier.

  • pink salmon fillet - 0.5 kg;
  • potatoes - 4 pieces;
  • onion - 1 piece;
  • carrots - 1 piece;
  • tomatoes - 2 pieces;

  • lettuce leaves - 4 pieces.

The cooking process in a multicooker is simple:

Cut the fillet into pieces no more than 3-4 cm thick. Cut the potatoes into 4 parts, and the onions, tomatoes and carrots into cubes or straws. Place lettuce leaves on the bottom of the pan and pink salmon on top. Then add the cut vegetables. Pour soy sauce and sprinkle with spices to taste.

Preparing this dish in a slow cooker does not take more than half an hour. Before serving, arrange the pink salmon pieces on a plate and garnish with herbs on top.

Baked tuna with onions in the oven

Ingredients:

  • tuna;
  • onion;
  • butter;
  • spices to taste.

Rinse and clean the tuna thoroughly. Take baking foil and place the onions on it. Place a piece of butter and a tuna carcass on it. Wrap everything tightly with foil. Bake for 20–25 minutes. This dish is also prepared from cod and mackerel.

Dietary carp in a slow cooker

It is not always possible to buy expensive varieties of sea fish. But dishes made from river varieties will not taste worse. A simple way to cook carp in a slow cooker:

Ingredients:

  • carp - 500 g;
  • spices to taste;
  • lemon juice - 1 spoon;
  • potatoes - 3-4 pieces;
  • dried dill;
  • salt.

Clean the insides of the carp, cut off the tail, fins and head. Wipe the carcass with spices and salt and leave for half an hour. Peel and cut the potatoes into slices or strips. Salt and sprinkle with dried dill. Place the potatoes in the multicooker pan and place the carp on top of them. Potatoes with carp will be ready in 20–25 minutes.

Cooking dishes in a slow cooker does not require much time and energy, and the taste benefits are noticeable. It is enough to include fish in your diet twice a week to get rid of stomach pain.

We recommend: Is it possible to eat pasta if you have gastritis?

General recommendations

So, if a diagnosis of “acute gastritis” has been made, the patient is not recommended to eat food at all on the first day. This measure will ensure complete rest for the gastric mucosa. However, to prevent dehydration, it is recommended to drink as much fluid as possible. After pain has decreased, lean meat broth can be introduced into the diet.

During this period, patients will greatly benefit from consuming rice and egg broth. After a few days, light puree soup can be added to the menu.

After gastralgia (stomach pain) has completely passed, the diet can be carefully expanded

It is allowed to prepare the following dishes:

  • liquid semolina porridge with a small amount of butter;
  • soft-boiled chicken egg;
  • fruit jelly.

Often when talking about a diet for acute gastritis of the stomach, people pay attention exclusively to the menu, but the schedule, or diet, plays an important role. Long intervals between meals are very harmful to the stomach.

After prolonged abstinence from food, the organ loses the habit of working in its usual mode.

Therefore, after therapeutic fasting, you should start eating in small portions, gradually increasing the amount. Even after recovery, you should adhere to a similar regime. For stomach health, split meals are recommended, in small portions, but often.

For acute gastritis, it is important not only to choose the right foods, but also to maintain the correct diet. You should follow a dietary diet for three months after recovery, this will allow the stomach to return to its previous state

During this period, it is useful to introduce the following products into the diet:

  • mashed potatoes, pumpkin, zucchini, beets, carrots;
  • meat and fish balls;
  • boiled meat;
  • green tea, pureed compotes.

Not only the choice of food, but also the method of preparing it is extremely important. Remember, cooked food should not linger in the stomach for a long time and irritate the walls of the organ. Instead of frying and stewing foods with a lot of added fat, it is better to boil the foods, steam them or bake them in the oven. Boiled meat and vegetables should be served pureed before consumption. Vegetable oil may be added to prepared dishes.

Important! Diet for acute gastritis is as necessary as taking medications. It is worth understanding that with acute gastritis the stomach is weakened and its resistance to infectious agents is sharply reduced

This is why it is important to maintain hygiene both when preparing food and when serving it to the patient. Wash vegetables thoroughly under running water. Before serving, pour boiling water over the dishes with which the patient eats.

Unfortunately, very often, when a painful outbreak subsides, people forget about the importance of dietary nutrition and return to their usual diet. This is absolutely not allowed

This significantly increases the risk of relapse.

Don't quit your diet once you feel better

Let's consider what patients with acute gastritis can eat:

  • During the first two days, therapeutic fasting is observed with the consumption of large amounts of liquid;
  • in the next two days, low-fat broths are introduced into the diet, the use of which alternates with mucous decoctions and crackers;
  • in the following days, you can prepare an egg broth with yolk for breakfast. You can also eat yesterday’s piece of bread or crackers;
  • for lunch, prepare semolina porridge in water and add a little butter;
  • You can have slimy broth for lunch. For the second course - dumplings with semolina porridge;
  • for an afternoon snack - fruit jelly with unsweetened tea;
  • For dinner, boil a soft-boiled chicken egg and drink it with compote.

What diet is indicated for acute gastritis? Patients are prescribed treatment table No. 1, and in the chronic form - diet No. 5. The essence of the first dietary table is to comply with strict restrictions. Table No. 1 does not allow the consumption of legumes and nuts. When the first symptoms have gone, patients are allowed to eat steamed omelettes, boiled veal, and rabbit.

Doctors allow the consumption of freshly squeezed vegetable juices. Fermented milk products are also useful, for example, live yoghurts, yogurt, low-fat sour cream. As for diet No. 5, it is usually prescribed during the period of remission to restore strength and to normalize the functioning of the digestive organs. The diet limits the consumption of fats, and the amount of proteins and carbohydrates remains the same.

Cooking features

With increased or decreased acidity of the stomach, regular consumption of low-fat varieties of fish contributes to a speedy recovery of the patient. But it is possible to achieve improved health and long-term remission of the disease only if you follow the following rules for preparing fish dishes:

  • cooking is permitted only by boiling, stewing, baking or steaming;
  • Fish products must be defrosted naturally for at least 6 hours;
  • It is recommended to replace vegetable oil with olive oil and add it only at the very end of cooking;
  • for a side dish you can prepare baked, boiled or stewed vegetables;
  • the dishes in which the fish will be cooked must be doused with boiling water;
  • Do not use spices, vinegar, lemon juice or mayonnaise during cooking;
  • It is best to give preference to recipes for soups, steamed meatballs or souffles.

Fish for gastritis helps restore the gastrointestinal mucosa, increases the protective properties of gastric mucus, and also improves digestion and increases appetite. This is an easily digestible protein product that is absorbed by the body within a couple of hours. Regular consumption of the right fish dishes for inflammation of the gastric lining helps cure the disease, strengthen the immune system and prolong youth.
